Ethiopians for Obama will be deploying our Obama platoons to the Ethiopian Churches in the DC area to register Ethiopian-Americans. Depending on how many volunteers take part, we will either go to one or all three of the churches this Sunday.

We will set up the registration tables at 11:00 AM, so please show up at 10:45 to help get set up. Please email me at theodorefikre@yahoo.com so that I can put together a schedule of volunteers and the corresponding churches. I will email all volunteers with the church you are assigned to--of the churches and my contact info will be included on the emails.Teddy

Come out to La Carbonara on Tuesday, May 20th as Senator Obama crosses the magical number and secures the majority of delegates needed to earn the Democratic Party's nomination.

La Carbonara has reserved the entire second floor for all to come witness history in the making. Obama will prevail as the Oregon and Kentucky electorate Barack-the-Vote and put Senator Obama over the top. All televisions inside the restaurant will be tuned into the cable news networks and the sound will be loud enough to hear from every corner. Come early, entrance is not guaranteed once we reach a certain capacity.

It is time to make this email viral. Forward "the Power of One" email to every Ethiopian--friend, family, cousin, associate, neighbor etc. We currently have 50 of us in our small yet dedicated group, our goal by the end of May is to get to 1,000. Yes that is a very lofty goal, but can it be done? Yechalal!

We have a lot of events that we will be planning in order to ensure that the Ethiopian-American vote will be a significant voting bloc come November. In order for us to accomplish this goal, we will need to identify as many Ethiopians as we know who will have the same enthusiasm and dedication that we all share. Remember the power of one, if all of us are able to reach out to only five of our friends or family members, we will grow our group to over 500 in a very short time. Post this article on every facebook, myspace, blog, Ethiopian magazine, forward it on yahoo, hotmail, gmail--well you get the idea :) Let's make it happen and see our numbers grow by the day.
